The SFO, or the science and Fun in ophthalmology session was one of the highlights of the 76th conference of the All India Ophthalmological Society.

The moderators of the show, Drs Lalit Verma, Harbans Lal, Tinku Bali, Ikeda Lal, and Rahil Chaudhary kept the audience engaged with their fast paced onslaught of questions and skill-based presentations.

The first round consisted of a video demonstration of surgical skill, while the second one concentrated on medical management of complicated cases, and a question and answer round. The third round was a journal club presentation to adjudicate the competing teams on all the essential skills needed in an ophthalmologist. At the end of the three rounds, Team 3, led by Dr Himanshu Matalia was the highest scorer in all the scientific sessions.

The twist in the tale came by way of a spin the wheel of fortune round, which caused major upsets, with Dr Rajesh Sinha’s team coursing to an overall victory. The other two teams, led by Dr Chaitra Jaidev and Dr Rishi Swarup provided tough competition to the winners.
